Raising Resilient Kids: Helping Children Thrive in Stressful TImes

How do we raise children who can bounce back from adversity, recover from trauma, adapt to circumstances beyond their control? How do we prepare our children for the unknown? How do we equip them to deal with psychological injury, attachment loss, or simply not getting their way? While children have the potential for tremendous resilience, this attribute needs to be developed and parents are key.

In this 2-hour evening address Dr. Neufeld, an internationally respected developmental psychologist, will discuss the roots of resilience and provide insight how this trait can be nurtured in children of all ages. This is his only scheduled appearance in the US in 2011.

About Dr. Neufeld 

Dr. Gordon Neufeld is a Vancouver-based clinical and developmental psychologist who has been working with children and those responsible for them for over 35 years. A former professor of developmental psychology and parent-child relations at the University of British Columbia, his best-selling book Hold On to Your Kids has been praised by parents, educators and mental health professionals worldwide. It won the 2006 National Parenting Publications Gold award and is now published in 8 languages.
